Sounds like your DVD drive is broken then if keeps discs spinning all the time! Mine checks the DVD before starting the game then stops spinning once it's done that and loads the game, my drive doesn't keep the disc spinning while playing.

ie some game prots check to see if the disk is in the drive at the begining of each level (and also not just at the begining of levels either). But i generaly meant i do not like having to use my original disk in drive for many diff reasons (not just damage to original disk but having disks in the drive can be detremental to performance at various levels for various reasons). (hope that made sense but just watched England match and still buzzing as is my head from to much pop
