As it happens I do own the original, but having kids with the youngest being 10 doesn't do much good for the original discs and i doubt I could get the discs exchanged without charge if they get messed up so its far easier to give them a throw away cd-r to play with. However when they can't play with it really its just an annoying waste of my time and a cd-r disc plus they end up disapointed that they can't play the game and if you've ever tried teaching kids to look after cd's and managed it then you should write a book on it.
