I got it solved from a newsgroup user's reply
Start > Run and type in
cmd
and there type in again
net stop msiserver
and reboot. Then detele the content of these folders:
Windows\Temp
Documents and settings\[user]\Local settings\Temp
Then, again in "cmd", type in
net start msiserver
