This worked for me, to play the game WITHOUT unplugging or deactivating my CD/DVD-Writer.
1. I made an exact copy with Alcohol 120 (see my original post).
2. Then I've downloaded ISODir
3. I opened my mdf-file with the ISOdir and made "Trim File".
4. I wasn't sure if my mds-file is good enough. So I've downloaded this.
5. And now I've mounted my mini-image with Daemon Tools 4.03 (emulation all off or on isn't important).
(Of course the mds and mdf-file must have the same name, so rename it! )

Hi,
I've tried to do exactly as you described, but it's not working...

I made an exact copy with Alcohol 120 (latest version), and downloaded the .mds from copybase. I have them on the same directory with the exact same name.
Then I trimmed my image file with ISOdir, but I'm not sure if any specific configurations are needed (I used the default options for ISOdir). But which extension should the mini-image file have? .iso or .mdf? If it's .mdf, I can't save it to the same directory as the other .mdf and .mds files, or it will overwrite my exact image...
Anyway, I tried with the same name and placed the mini image on the desktop. Then I tried mounting either the exact image, the mini-image or even both at the same time, but it still doesn't work, I still get the "please insert original disk" message... What am I doing wrong?
My game was already installed from the dvd before I made the .mdf file, do I need to uninstall and install it again from the image?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Lelila
P.S. I think we're talking about the same version of the game, mine is the unpatched english version, bought in the UK.
