For recovering deleted files or recovering data on deleted/damaged partitions, you may want to try
Ontrack EasyRecovery Pro. I never had the need to use it on my own hard disks, though. Also, when the partition table of a friend of mine got messed up, Linux's fsck.vfat did miracles on it!
