Well, to be honest, I don't really care how you write, as long as I can understand what you're trying to say. After all, that's the whole point of a language: to make people understand you. Yes, it's important to be precise when you need people to be certain of exactly what you're trying to tell them, or instruct them to do, but, on a bulletin/conversation board, one can generally determine what point someone is trying to get across without the Queen's English being necessary (especially if it's not their first language).
As for your corrections: "Whenever I get the opportunity to write, I use the proper English when writing posts, letters, etc." is still incorrect. It would have been correct to say: "Whenever I get the opportunity, I use the proper English when writing posts, letters, etc."
