Frühe Betaversionen von „Heroes of Might & Magic 5“ kamen noch mit StarForce daher. Auf Nachfrage der GameStar bestätigte Ubisoft die Aussage des Community-Managers.
Der Kopierschutz StarForce geht äußerst aggressiv vor: Wer beispielsweise diverse Brenn-Programme installiert hat, kann sich auf Ärger mit dem Kopierschutz gefasst machen.

[Update]: Auf Nachfrage von GameStar hat Ubisoft einen kompletten Verzicht auf den Starforce-Kopierschutz inzwischen bestätigt. Damit werden in Zukunft keine weiteren Spiele des Publishers mehr mit Starforce versehen.
