It is nearly impossible to get a bus speed of 400 MHz without dual channel (that would mean your RAM is running at the speed of PC6400!). You would have to double the bus speed manually, which normally makes it incredibly unstable (not to mention would probably break your RAM, i would imagine that you would need to up the voltage to about 5v at least). Also, to change your bus speed on your ram, you need to change the FSB of your cpu as well (or just bus speed if your AMD) and change the overall frequency of your CPU (and drop the multiplier too).

btw, i was just referring to one stick in my last post, not dual channel kits. And yes, the price for dual channel kits are coming down considerably (yay!)
