For files larger than 2 gigabytes, use the UDF file system instead.
However, if you made an image of those DVD's then the DVD and/or the videos might still be in some weird format, so you might not be able to play them on DVD players or personal computers other than that DVD/VCR combi player/recorder. (Let me guess: is it Panasonic?)
So, extract the files first and try to play them with your favorite PC media player, or see
MPlayer for a plays-everything-you-throw-at-it-even-if-doesn't-look-particularly-nice, multi-platform media player.
