As fas I m concerned there are no working no cd patches or cracks for ff8.
You can however play from images stored on your HardDisk .Just install from the install cd with daemon tools...
Then mount the first play disc and go to command: type regedit.
Look in HKey Local Machine for final fantasty 8 and then select the data drive in the right tab. Change it to the drive letter of your virtual drive and off you go

And about the disc two game crash the nvideapatch should fix that
