I used the Gold Edition V1.0 fix (English). Or is there another version of Gothic2 Gold English? Mine's v2.7.
I've also tried the NOCD image fix(v2.7) with Daemon Tools, just got a message something like: "No Disk in Drive" (can't remember exactly). I know I could've make a mistake since I didn't use Daemon Tools before.
