I have tried every single version of the no/dvd crack. I have a us cd version that I converted to a dvd to save wear on my original disks.
The problem is when I use any of the cracks they will launch the game (the vw illegal ops) and everything works great. But when I choose to go into a game mode and it should show the vehicles to choose from nothing is being rendered. I can switch vehicles but there is no pic of the vehicle. Then if you just try to launch say quick game and speed trap it'll try to load but then it'll kick me back to the desktop. I'm running win2k/sp4 fully updated everything driver wise. and I even downclocked my 6800GT to stock speeds thinking that might have something to do with it.
It would be kinda cool to have a working no/cd for this game but it's bad enough that I bought this POS! nfs games are more like rap videos from modern day mtv than a actually fun arcade racer. The game would be 100% better if just the music was changed to all 80's hair band's
