Very useful info here.

I successfully made a backup DVD of the BF2:Special Forces expansion pack.
I download it originally the day of release and had been wanting to make a hard copy backup.

I copied all the files from the BF2:Special Forces folder that was created by the EA Downloader after installation to a temp directory. I then followed the directions you gave above for BF2.

I edited the autorun.ini and added these lines:
NAME=BF2 SPECIAL FORCES
LABEL=BF2 SPECIAL FORECS

My ini looked like this:

[autorun]
icon=bf2xp1.ico
open=Autorun.exe

NAME=BF2 SPECIAL FORCES
LABEL=BF2 SPECIAL FORCES

I then set the label of my DVD to match that of above and burned the files.

I did test both the BF2 and Expansion pack DVD's after burning. I completely uninstalled and removed the directories and reinstalled via the new DVD's without a hitch. You do however have to use the original cd1 from BF2 to play though.

I purchased BF2 on release day and didnt have a DVD burner at the time, so swapping out CD's sucked whenever I had to reinstall. CoD2, I did have the DVD burner then, but a local store had the CD version on sale for $24.99 so I bought that one. Going to try to burn CoD2 now onto one disc via the info from these forums. Thanks again.
