DUKE_NUKEM is on a distinguished road
DabHand, I've always been a console-gamer, but I've never pretended to play on pc as easily as on Sega MegaDrive. Anyway it's certainly not my opinion that lots of people are having problem with (not only) this game; it seems that having a game without any kind of issue is just exception, while it would be the normality.
If Silent Hill 4 fails in recognizin' my gfx and so prevents me from changing the screen res, what I should do? Remaining calm and thinkin' that I'm one of those unlucky people who have this problem, or better return the game to the store?
If NFSMW have some strange behaviour cause I have 50 GB full on the 75 of my Hard-Disk, even if this is the prob (I've still not tried, and maybe I'll never try cause I've not the game anymore), what I should think about the programmers? Nobody said me I would have had 30+ GB free on my Hard Disk!!!! (I defragment it every single day, just to be precise).
And what about path of neo, so horrible that they released a huge patch in less then one week? And F.E.A.R. and Starship Troopers, which look like crap at med\low res? Don't ya think that there isn't too much attention for med-low-end systems?
Back to NFSMW, a 7800 GTX owner, seeing the game choppy cause in some situations it is choppy, no matter the hardware and the detail level you choose, what should he do?
Well, I'm still waitin' for an answer, cause games which play fine on the 99,99999% systems are still many, as a confirm that is still possible to make a game suitable for (almost) every config.
My little noobie idea is, since pc has become a gaming machine (I think approx. since 1998), too many people have thought to be able to enter this market; the result is, too many games, much of them similar and of low quality, and only few must-buy, few as they where before this "Boom".
So, even if this ought-to-be great titles (I think also to POP3, damned SF3!!!)
are not free from the shadow of issues, mmmmmm, better come back to consoles. But not me, the programmers.
