Guys, if you want
serious simulation, try Live for Speed or any game from the SimBin Team, in the hardest difficulty mode. The Need for Speed series stopped being simulation, after the first one.
As for compatibility, a PC not only need to meet the hardware requirements but its software also needs to be maintained continuously, otherwise weird things will happen - crashes, compatibility problems, etc. -, and not only with games! So, from this point of view, DABhand is right, it is not always the publisher's fault that their software doesn't run - properly or at all - on a given PC. (The real question is the difference between the percentage of problems caused by the user and the publisher.
