The real point is that from now on games are coming out on DVD mostly. So as burners come down in oprice to c. twice that of good CD burners, more of us are going to buy DVD burners, particularly the Pioneer AO3. The alternative, ripping DVD games to disk, is time consuming, an adventure of discovery for each game and an inferiror result. So my advice in your planning is to count on DVD burning as a prime backup method.
