SF the SF Keyless 3.5.10.6 on X3: Reunion works fine on my PC with no unplugging of drives with standard DT4
(Didn't do anything, simply installed with standard options, and enabled all security/ emulation options, so I dunno)
I suspect it probably depends on the game & version of SF involved.
