I have played Republic Command and I had the same problem. The solution? Apply latest patch (original patch from
www.lucasarts.com) and then apply the crack according to the version of the applied patch/game.
I have a 5 years old video card: Asus Geforce 256 DDR 32MB and even that a warning about pixel shader appeared before starting the game, I did play to the end. (well... with some less details and bad lights fx due to the card).
