This post has become yet another example of something that has annoyed me since I discovered this site. While I can't say I share Noctunre's political\social assessment of America (I don't think there's any chance of it "disappear"ing), I do empathize with the confontational tone he used in his posts.
While this site is extremely informative and useful, the most frequent (albeit usually the most helpful) posters here usually come off as condescending at best and insulting at worst. Dabhand just scored a real zinger by mocking some Portugese guy's English. Whoah, almost cut myself on that wit of yours.
And why bother with the holier-than-thou reminders of the Holy Forum Rules? Nocturne OBVIOUSLY doesn't possess the game legally and neither does the vast majority of people who use Fileforums and the various copyworlds. If you folks that like to come down on illegal filesharers really had any convictions regarding this victimless crime you wouldn't share your hacking/programming info with anyone who comes up with a lame "my dog ate it" story. I don't see any real legal reason for this attitude either. The owners, moderators and the lawyers for the corporations who produce the files all know that this site is mostly used by pirates. You would have to be very naive to think that banning anybody is going to save them when they finally go to court. But whatever your reasoning for it, why not just ban them and delete the post? It might cut down on the animosity and frequency of these pointless strings of posts, like the one I just contributed to
