Thats true, but dont delve into the firmware hacks when you get your drive, try it out first.
3rd Party, even some manufacturer, firmwares could potentially ruin your drive.
Ive had cases at my shop, where people bought a writer from me, took it home came back a few days later complaining it never worked, offcourse they flashed the firmware and ended up with a less than working drive (when the drive not flashed worked great).
Soon as you flash the drive, you invalidate your warranty.
