(only for the first step you need the original CD)

No need of anti-blaxx, virtual hide, MINI_IMG, etc. you only need Alcohol (trail) or Demon Tools (freeware)

Worked on Windows XP Home SP2 without any problems

Step 1. Make an image of your original CD by following step 1 of franksmule guide. click here

Step 2. Disable the real DVD & CD Drives.
-> Right click on My Computer and select Properties.
-> Under Hardware tab click on Device Manager
-> In the Device Manager window click on the + sign near DVD/CD-ROM drives to expand it.
-> Right-click on each of the real (not virtual) drives and select Disable and click OK.
Step 3. Change compatibility mode of fm.exe to Windows NT 4.0 (SP 5).
-> Follow step 3 of franksmule guide if you don't know how. click here
Step 4. Mount the full image that was made in Step 1 by using Acohol or Daemon Tools

Step 5. Double-click on the Football Manager 2006 shortcut on the desktop and have fun playing without the CD in drive.

Note: To re-anable the DVD/CD-ROMs you need to follow Step 2, but instead of selecting Disable, select Enable.
Nice guide you've put up there, but for me it all worked without even needing to go through Step 2. Are you sure it's a needed step? It worked without it for me.
