The answer is simple:
There was a FAKE emulator named Nightmare or so (don't remember clearly) that alows you to play dreamcast games on PC. Of cource it's not working and when you try to open game it asked for the .gre files. I think this is the one he's asking.
So, the funniest thing of it that there was a commercial program ($20) that makes .gre files form the GD-ROM directly

- you need just insert GD-ROM to your DVD-ROM and program will convert.
