Reviewing Half-Life 2īs Changelog it hasnīt been updated since 23.05.2005.
Maybe Steam itself gets updates from time to time (donīt know how CS:S and other source-titles gets updated because I donīt play that games).
So... what is "frequent" here at all ;-D
And, as posted above: You can turn off the updating process.
