In this case, it's possible that the crackers released a no-CD patch that would work under Windows XP only. (They didn't test it with Windows 98/ME/2000 or didn't even care about those OS'es...
) But, with the original, uncracked executable, the game
does run under Windows 98/ME/2000, right?!
