Well, if everything burns fine, and it used to work before (same setup?), then I'd have to say that this is more of a DC problem and not your burner's. It could be the problem if you got a machine made after oct2k, could be that it is rejecting the new games; or it could be that your DC's laser is broken (although if the old games still work than this is obviously not the problem).

You can also blame the rips for the problems (could it be that the games are not self-bootable?), they could be corrupted and there isnt much you can do about it.

However if none of the above apply to your case then the last thing I can do is relate it to a similar problem I once got. Back when I was having problems with THPS2, I took the .cdi apart, and burned all of the files and folders directly. After that I put the cd into my dc and it sorta started, went up to the activision logo and then crashed back to the audio screen, this happened with a boot-disk and w/o one. Eventually (about the 3rd time I tried it) it stopped going to the activision logo and just showed the audio play screen right away.

So it could be that the file(s) you burned are corrupted like mine was, that is probably the only reasonable explanation I can give to your problem. I do suggest you download the files from some big chatroom in Irc as the ppl who serv them would not keep corrupted files on their HDs.
