I spent the past 2 days getting the "Please insert the correct CD" error.
Turns out I had a program that was, for some reason, blacklisted. The guilty program was TweakXP Pro. I guess it's because it allows virtual drives and virtual hard drives, B&W2 decided to not allow it. After I uninstalled it worked fine with Alcohol 120%.
So check that all programs which can create virtual drives are uninstalled except Alcohol or Daemon Tools.
And for everyone experiencing slowdown, try updating your graphics drivers. It runs fine on my P4 2.8Ghz with 512MB of RAM and a Radeon 9600 non-pro with 128MB of RAM. I have it at the default resolution but with all effects turned up and I get around 25fps most of the time.
If you have a Radeon, make sure you don't have the Omega drivers installed, because they seem to screw it up. ATI's 5.9 work fine.
