Safedisc 4 mini-images are totally possible
(See mine for TRS2006 or that for BF2). Couple of questions though- What speed did you try ripping the mini-image at (Try both lowest & highest possible), and secondly- Did you try going a little further and then trying again?
Finally, what do you mean by corrupt? Just mount the mini-image & play; You shouldn't be doing anything with it.
