Don't know... Mine doesn't do that (from what I recall - haven't played DOA2 in a while). I didn't do anything special to my disc, that I remember. Of course that was one of the first ones I burned, too.

If that's the only one you have problems with, have you tried it in someone else's DC? Maybe you have a marginal burn and your DC laser is just not reading it very well. If other DCs do the same thing though, I don't know...

Check the disc on your computer to see if you find a dummy file. Mine (Label says DOA2LE_ECH) has a dummy file that's 260,000,000 bytes in size (253,907 kb). Since the DC reads data near the edge of the disc faster than that in the center (it's a CAV or Constant Angular Velocity drive), without a DUMMY file, it may be reading the data slower.

Also, if you try to reburn the disc, the dummy file should really go at the first of the disc image, otherwise it's not serving its purpose.
