Well, that confirms it. Either UP has not carried out the patch or you are writing the wrong file back to CD-R. So you'll need to retrace your steps to find out what's going wrong. The steps you took were simple (but please read this and confirm or retry):

1 You took a copy of your game to the HDD using CDRWin having selected the BIN/CUE Sheet option. You called the file (e.g.) HHH (producing HHH.BIN & HHH.CUE)

2 You applied the UP v1.5 to the file HHH.BIN & UP reported successfully patched

3 You burned the file HHH.BIN back to CD-R using CDRWin selecting the CUE Sheet option to supply the burning parameters

UP locates the relevant file list parameters in the BIN file and makes the changes to PBPX and also finds the data in the SYSTEM file to make the corresponding change there.

If you wanted to avoid the next coaster you could use the DOS COmmand prompt command FIND "PBPX" c:\path\HHH.bin and if it's there, then it should burn OK. Better still, you probably still have the failed BIN on your hard disk. Do the text searxh on that. If the PBPX is there, then its going in the wrong place, which I find difficult to believe.

I hope at the end of the day it's just a file path question; i.e. you might be patching one file and burning another.

The version number is irrelevant to the question.
We are at least making progress.
