It certainly does, but for some of us the mini-image is too much trouble. I know many people use NO-CD's/Mini-Images because they want to preserve their CD's and not wear them out from constant use in a CD-drive. I can't speak for everyone, but I like using NO-CD's because of the convenience of not having to keep the CD in the drive, and swapping them out when I want to play a different game.
Using a mini-image replaces the incovenience of CD-swapping with the incovenience of having a whole new piece of software, using it to mount an image, and then possibly having to hide the whole setup because of games that detect it. For me it's just too much trouble, and games for games like BF2 I just settle for keeping the DVD in the drive.
