Your Nforce chipset 'could' be the problem.
I have a mate who has an AMD64, Nforce 3 chipset and optical drives on BOTH primary/secondary IDE and he can't get SF 0.82 or SF Nightmare working with the two SF games he owns, TOCA 2 and GTR, so he has to use his original discs which is not a real problem for him.
You could try uninstalling the Nforce chipset/IDE drivers and use the standard windows drivers and see if that helps.
