He installed SCCT with the original cd, then patched it with 1.2 patch.
He deactivated the ide drives (with SFNightmare), mounted the mini-image from GCW, and tried to start the game using his regular key. He then got a standard Starforce error message.

To resolve the situation, he sent an email to starforce support, describing his entire system and the error message. Actually, I think he is trying to say that we all should do the same. As a result the starforce people sent him a message; advising him to hold down shift key, run the game, and enter some special key. Surprisingly enough; this worked. The game started etc etc, and worked 100%, even though he re-activated the ide drives!

Of course he was rather proud and wanted to share this information with us. Thereby revealing his love for pasting long strings of useless info...

In other words, he claims that the starforce cd check can be bypassed with special keys in stead of the regular cd keys. The bad side is that you have to
ask SF for it...

No it's not exactly that.

In fact, when you send to starforce team a report error (it preferable that you burn the dvd because they can see you are using virtual drives, cracks, starfu*k in report error),then they send you a patch (an exe and a dll to replace the protection by starforce pro active wich works with serials instead of dvd,to help people who have difficulties with original copy) who generate a key corresponding to you hardware configuration, and this serial is different each time you launch the game.So after the protection give you a serial, send it to starforce and they will send you an activation key corresponding to you hardware serial.
I do that and i can confirm that work but not probably for long time because they know this method.
