It's because the first time the game loads it tests and sees if you're connected and when that happens, your software firewall has to ask you questions about settings up a rule.
Whenever I install a new game, before I play it, I always assign the game's .exe file firewall permissions. Before I started doing that, I had all sorts of problems like this.
