Meaning he couldnt get the cracks to work therefore had never even seen the game! So he didnt just get a warez version then found he liked it and went and bought it from a store!
If in fact he did buy it, he has only bought it as he couldnt get the version he had to work! No-one would purchase a game then buy another copy because the first purchased one did not work! You would return or swap the one that didnt work from the place of purchase!
