All drives from Plextor are the best, it's just a matter of how much you want to pay. I have never heard anything about them adding a feature that prevents CD-to-CD copies. The only new feature is PoweRec II, which guarantees consistent and high quality burns at all speeds.

I currently have a Plextor PlexWriter 12/10/32A EIDE, Plextor released their 16/10/40A EIDE burner awhile back and now are proud to introduce their 24/10/40 EIDE burner, which produces a 650 CD in under 4 minutes. Like I said before, you pay a little more for Plextor's, but you pay more for high quality.

As for what a Yammy is, it is a Yamaha, they were the first to bring us the 16x CD-RW on a consumer level. There were a good bit of problems during it's initial launch, but all kinks have been worked out through firmware patches. You also pay a little more for Yamaha's, but, like the Plextors, your paying for quality.
