P.S: I do own an original copy of Squad Assault but I do want to be able to play the v1.08 of that game without the original CD in my drive and furthermore I want to be able to have working backups because first it's my right (I do have the original) and second if the original CD get's any sort of damage that prevents it from working I will NOT get a replacement (or a refund) from where I bought that game (that why backups exists and are legal)![QUOTE]
1. Yes its ok to have a backup IF the agreement says so :P If it says your not to make one, then you cant :P Alot of people think they can backup everything they own, but its not always the case.
2. If your CD is damaged, you can contact the publisher and get a new CD for a fee or in some cases free. If the damage occurs within 30 days then you can ask for a replacement at your local store or a refund (refund is at the store's discretion if they want to or not).
3. Not all backups are legal, refer to 1.
4. It may take time for a no-cd to appear as it will have to be of interest to groups/crackers/joe bloggs, but if they feel the game is pants they may avoid it and some other person may send one out. But you may be in for a longgggg wait.
