1) when you update a game it makes changes to existing files (obviously). with Bloodlines, several files are updated, including the .exe and .dll that require cracking in order to play the game without the disk. the original versions of these files must have contained errors that were fixed, or code that was optimised, in the v1.2 patch.
therefore, using the v1.0 files, or v1.0 cracked files, will still work. it's just that they are the original files and still contain the errors. any problem with the game that is a result of errors in these files will still occur. any problem that is caused by another file will be fixed if you have installed the patch. any problem caused by those files that you don't personally experience on your PC probably still won't occur.

2) there is no censorship in the game. i can't 100% confirm this of course, but as far as i know it's just a rumour. i bought this game in the UK when it came out. when i heard the rumour i decided to check it out. i bought another copy from the USA. they each had different packaging, the dvd-style case in the UK and a cardboard box for the USA version, yet the contents of the disks were exactly the same, and neither had any noticable differences during gameplay. also, i've checked many posts on forums as well and have not found anyone confirm any differences. i've also checked the developers and publishers website and there is no mention of any censorship.
my conclusion is that this is just a rumour. it is possible that the game was made, deemed to be too offensive, and censored before the final version, so it never made it to release. someone heard this and started the rumour, if this is so, then the only 'uncensored' version of the game will be a beta version that only the developers have.
