When I said 'Playing' from original, I meant Installing from Original.
I've got the original as well Karl. the reason I used the NODVD fix was because I wanted to test it out, which I did straight away. I've not played the Campaign fully yet, but I did a re-install from the original without the fix, and for me the game seemed to play the same. I say 'seemed', because due to the open ended nature of this game, you're never really sure what you're going to come across. However, I concede that you may be correct. It does seem ominous that the Latest Starforce is strangely the easiest of all to crack. I've posted your concerns to other followers of the game on other Forums, so hopefully se can get some feedback on this quickly.
P.S. Karl, did you install from a backup, or from the Desktop? I know it shouldn't make any difference, but I installed the game from a Desktop file dump from the DVD. Also, when asked to install the auto updater, I chose not to do this. Maybe that could mak e a difference.
Karl
I apologize and concede to you better judgment. Yes, the game is different when installed without the fix. Looks like Starforce is not beaten yet. Thanks for pointing this out, I would have been carrying on with the ****y fix, and losing out on the game 'proper', so to speak.
Also, I suppose it's possible that the Illegal version has more fixes in it, and those using the original can't cross-link with Warezzed files, so to speak.
