Help w/short tracks when copying self booting disks
I know there is a way to do this, and I've found some information about it, but it's all been vague with no specifics. I need a way to take the plain files from the 2nd (data) session of a self booting disk and turn them into another self booting disk.
The reason I need this is that my CDR doesnt seem to like certain disks. I can get the same disk from 2 different sources, and one will copy while the other wont. Errors include "audio track less than 4 seconds long" (directcd) , and "read/write error" (Nero), and also "Invalid or Illegal mode for this track" (DJ). Nero and DJ burn until they get to the data session, then quit with the mentioned errors.
After about 50 coasters, I've tried almost everything. I found the other day when making a DJ image of one of the CD's I cant copy, I used CDIFIX on the image and it did fix the tracks that had <300 sectors. It also said that the data track had been truncated, but I dont know if that would have led to the image being a coster. I tried burning the image both with Nero and DJ, and spat out coasters both times. The modes of the tracks and the files were correct, but the DC just went to the music cd screen.
I've also tried the following:
1) Made an ISO using just the plain files
2) Made an ISO using plain files then inserting ip.bin via ipins
3) Made an ISO using plain files with the IP.bin included in the files before the ISO was compiled.
I know there just has to be something simple I am overlooking. Its crazy that I can make a self booting disk with the Echelon tools, then not be able to make a copy of that same disk.
Any help with this is sincerely appreciated.
thanks
