I downloaded the latest versions of dvd43 and dvd shrink about two weeks ago, and I have been able to make back up copies of all those troublesome movies with Sony Arccos protection; it is not right for Sony (or any other company) to make it so difficult (or impossible) to a make a back-up copy of a DVD that I have purchased. Anyway, After encoding them on my hard drive, I burned them to DVD with Roxio 6 (a friend of mine uses Roxio 7 and it works just as well or better.) Roxio costs about $60, but dvd 43 and dvd shrink are freeware programs. Good luck with everything, and thanks to everybody for all of their input and ideas. :
