It sounds to me like it might be a PIC fix problem. You mentioned that he installed a laser fix, do you know which one? If it’s the PIC fix (weather or not it has the diode fix as well) this might be your problem. If the PIC fix detects a problem with the mechacon crashing it will turn your v12 off within 3 seconds. I have also seen the PIC fix turn off the v12's with out even turning them on, much like what you are describing, you tap reset on the v12 and you see the light flash then go back to red again. This is exactly what the PIC fix is designed to do. If the mechacon crashes (which it can do right from standby as well) the PIC fix will shut your v12 down so it won’t fry the laser. There are other things that can contribute to the PIC fix shutting your unit down. If the install is faulty the PIC can act the same way. If the resistance value on the 'J' line is too low the PIC will shut down right from the get go as well. But you don’t want it to be too high or the PIC fix won’t do its job. The value needs to be just high enough to turn on the v12 with out error.
I would suggest you contact the installer of your v12 and let him know your problem.
