Elby CloneDVD2 and Default Audio and Default Subtitles
I use CLONEDVD2 Version 2.7.5.1 to minimize the compression necessary for backing up DVD's but there are issues that I have found and I'm hoping someone has a solution to them. By the way, the combination of using DVDDecrypter and CloneDVD2 is the best DVD backup solution I've found yet.
1)Whenever you remove the first audio stream that is listed, your set-top DVD player will still believe that it's there and will play it by default and therefore you get no sound out of it. You then need to use your set-top DVD player's function to change the audio stream to the correct one. Is there any way to set a default audio stream so that you don't have to always do this?? I know that there is an option within CloneDVD2's preferences to sort do this but it warns that your DVD player may get confused by using it which I believe to be the case since I tried it and the DVD gets "stuck" playing over and over again if you navigate through the chapter points too much. Does anyone have any suggestions(even if it means using a combination of other apps to accomplish this)??
For example, often times the first 2 audio streams listed are:
2 Channel AC3
5.1 Channel AC3
If you delete the 2 Channel AC3 to free up room but keep the 5.1 Channel AC3, your set top DVD player will try to play the 2 Channel AC3 by default but since it's no longer actually there, you get no audio and have to manually switch to the 5.1 Channel AC3.
2) Whenever you back up a DVD and decide to keep any of the subtitles, your set-top DVD player will always play the subtitles by default. I guess I could just remove all subtitles to resolve this but I'd like to keep them and not have them play by default. Also, I know that many set-top DVD players have an option to turn off subtitles by default but I do not wish to rely on that since not all of them do.
Finally I have 4 feature requests for CloneDVD2 that would make it the best and simplest DVD copying program out there.
1) Ability to remove titles hidden within the Menu system to free up space
2) Ability to set a default audio stream
3) Ability to set a default subtitle stream
4) Add a decryption feature so that I don't have to use DVDDecrypter or AnyDVD or DVD43 anymore. ( This won't happen due to legal reasons)
Thanks dudes!!!
