I trust you're reading about the DiamondMAX9?

Well, I have the 80GB DiamondMax9 and i've even knocked the PS2 over with it in, and my data has been perfect. There have been no corruptions and the drive is quick, quiet and smooth. I've had it about 3 months now, and i'm more than happy with it

I can only guess there was a bad batch out there once...
