I've just sent a 'Generic' patch for all versions of Painkiller from v1.2 upto v1.61 to GCW made with PatchFX.
Tested it on BOOH and v1.61 plus a few NoCD's I have, I just changed the EB byte back to 75 and ran the patch, it patched it back to EB so looks like the 'Search and Destroy' is working
@ Eagle: Very strange, I also got a message saying your patch couldn't find the file even when both were in the same folder? Stick to PatchFX, it's more reliable
Regarding Windows not letting you delete files, usually I pop a Command Prompt in the folder where the file is, kill EXPLORER.EXE in Taskmanager and then delete the file via the Command Prompt. I then use the File > New Task (RUN) command in Taskmanager and run EXPLORER.EXE again to get the desktop back
