Mac-user: Losing subtitles when backing up double sided episode DVDs

I'm trying to back up double sided episode DVDs. I succeeded in ripping the episodes and combining them on one single sided DVD, but I'm losing the subtitles. Any suggestions what to do to be able to keep them?

What I did was the following: I ripped the four episodes from side A in OSEx. I chose one episode at the time and deselected all subtitles except the one I wanted (Swedish). The file I got was a VOB-file. I then combined the episodes in Toast and saved the DVD as a disc-image. I then used Popcorn to shrink it to fit a single sided DVD. It all went well except that I lost the subtitles.

This is where I'm lost. I have no idea on how to solve this. Any suggestions?

I tried a different output when ripping that gives me three different files: an MV2-file that I assume contains the movie, an AC3-file with sound (I reckon) and an SPC-file that I imagine is containing the subtitles. I have no idea though on how to put these three together to make a complete movie out of them.

Toast apparently can combine the sound and movie-files, but not the subtitles. So how do I go about this? I would love to be able to make a single sided DVD backup of my double sided DVDs so I appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks in advance!
