Can't install or uninstall A120 in XP Pro

I'm logged on XP as administrator and get the following message trying to uninstall or re-install Alcohol 120;

Error 1606. Could not access network location “::\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop”.

Found out why... Since I upgraded from 98se to XP Pro (and installed SP2), all the nasties from 98 were enherited. Even if you're able to uninstall A120 by registry editing, you cannot re-install. You will have to reformat to ntfs (wise) and do fresh install of XP. Then all your software (well, nearly) will install ok.

Another day. A120% has a feature called safe mode. If the vertual drivers fail to load, you can still use the program minus mounting images. But the question of installing; you down't actually have to install it (that blasted setup.msi). just create a new directory, then use WinRAR to open setup.msi and drag all the files to your newly created directory and use the program for everything except image mounting.

And now the final solution (for me). Ther was a registery key sequence that was eluding me. When I searched for it, the first one found I deleted, but didn't realize that key sequence occurs several times. Kept searching for same value and deleting it till no more for that value were left. Now A120 installs perfectly.
