Managed to get Star Wars Battlefront PAL (Known for Black Screen of Death) to work. I noticed that the game itself has it's normal SLES,SLUS,SCES file but also has an ELF file SWBFRONT.ELF.. See where im going......
I simply copied the files on the disc to my hard drive, then using notepad edited the top line of the SYSTEM.CNF to read.. YUP you guessed it..
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SWBFRONT.ELF;1
Then rebuilt the ISO in nero in no particular order and making sure to rename it "1_01" which was the original name for the disc.The ISO is half the size because you have only made an ISO not ISO/UDF (I think) don't panic though.
Dumped it using HDL_DUMP 0.7.3 with the HD attached to PC using SWBFRONT.ELF as the Disc ID (Instead of SLES/SLUS/SCES_XXXXX)
Loaded it with all modes OFF... nothing...
All modes ON... SUCCESS
I hope this can help to figure out the BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH problem. Someone with more experience may be able to work back from this...
Hopefully
I don't think the network capabilities work doing it this way.. but from what i can see i believe this is the first a BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH game has been loaded using HD Loader.
I have a PAL V3 NO MOD PS2 using MC Exploit & Fully patched & skinned HD Loader
GAMES THAT WORK USING THIS METHOD
Star Wars Battlefront NTSC/PAL...............(SWBFRONT.ELF)
Metal Gear Solid 3 OPSM Demo NTSC.........(MGS\MGS3.ELF)
GoldenEye : Rogue Agent.........................(GE2\GE2RDVD.ELF)
