Did you read the articles on the billboards scattered around C17? They say something about a "7 hour war", and that the "resistance is futile" Borg style
. So there is much more behind this, than the obvius. This game is so greatly made. You must look at the very little, seemingly not worthy, informations to piece together the real story. The billboards, the TV commercials, the conversations accross the game, everything holds a little piece of a huge puzzle.
And what about the ending? that begins with the time stopping at the explosions of the citadell, G-man sais "Time?..." and sais aomething about some benefactors interested in Gordons "services". And G-man "have taken the liberty to choose from them". I'm completly confused
