You want to decrease the Ohms, and to do this you would turn the pot clockwise, also dont go below 800 Ohms on either pot or you just might fry your laser all together. It doesnt take much of an adjustment to make a big value change either. Take the pots down just enough to where it reads well. The lower you set the ohms the more voltage your supplying to the laser diode, coils, and everything else which will just wear things out even faster now. You may want to try adjusting the white cog as well. Before you start fiddling around with either make sure you jot down your original settings so you can back yourself out if you need to.

The problems with the games you are having, I have been hearing about for some time now, this is nothing new and not your chip or install so you can relax in that regard.
