M8,

Have you got the correct booting methods???

Check out www.psxcopyworld.co.uk on there you will find my booting methods, i have the same spec as you and have no problems.

I also reset my PS2 with the REGION X already inserted b4 playing another PS2 backup. EA Games i have to power off for 5 secs and then hold reset, its all explained on the web addy.

If that does not work, it could be a hardware thing, what version of the REGION X do u have???
